The First Voice

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost.

It all began in 2007, co-anchoring the 24th Universiade Game in Bangkok Thailand; this is where I discovered “voice”.

  1. An Introvert
  2. The First Voice
  3. Practice; on & on
  4. Voice-Over

An Introvert

As an individual, you can define me as being a semi introvert / extrovert being; a person who can mingle with a group or two but resides to self-time when recharging. They too can take the center stage; it’s the matter of whether it is being there physically or just “verbally”.

The First Voice

With some co-anchoring experiences, some of the managements recommended me to try out being a news anchor on the radio. An introvert and zero voiceover experiences; the first time will definitely be a memorable one.

Of course, the first voice was a disaster.

Practice; on & on

Being a news anchor on the radio may sound elegant and ascetically glamorous; though there will always be that 1st moment where everyone fails miserably. But of course, practices makes it perfect; ideally there is no zero mistakes though your fine arts are tended to a point in becoming your second nature.

Voice-Over

Since then, fine tuning my arts in the languages familiar by many was the key to gradually refining the skills which was harvested from the early days of the news anchor.
